Notifications in Dynamics

Hello,

Were trying to find a way to notify users when a new web submission comes into the system,

Users dont seem to pay much attention to the insights card ( via light bulb) so were exploring different options.

To our understanding, we cant trigger scripts on the creation of a record.

A pop up message or some type of notification to display somewhere on the screen is what were looking for.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
For notifications, you can use Power Automate.
Trigger: On the creation of a record.
Logic: Use Teams connector to send a Teams notification to the owner of the record. They will receive a notification on Teams, and you can also add a link to the notification.
    Connector Link: Microsoft Teams

    Hi,

You can check out Zap Notifications Generator App... which can help you generate In-App Notification or a Pop-up notification (as shown in screenshot below):

Will the inbuilt In-App Notifications not work for you here?

    Hello,

There are a few ways you could approach this depending on where you want the notification to appear.

For example, Power Automate can trigger when a new record is created and notify the relevant users through email or Teams. If you want the notification to stay within Dynamics 365, you can also look at in-app notification options rather than relying on the Insights card.

If you're looking for something that can trigger an alert directly from a record creation event, Alerts4Dynamics is another option to consider. It supports Event-Based Alerts, so you can configure an alert when a new record is created and choose how it should be delivered, such as a pop-up, form notification, or email. You can also target specific users or teams.

So, for a new web submission, the setup could essentially be:

New submission/record created → trigger the alert → notify the appropriate user/team.

The best approach would depend on whether you want the notification in Dynamics 365 itself, Teams/email, or a combination of these.
