Hi everyone

We discovered, as we were about to deliver an item, that we didn’t have enough in stock, even though it looks like we should have 11 units left after delivering the order for 30 units.

When we investigated further, it turned out there’s another order for this item. However, since it’s an assembly item, it doesn’t show that 16 units are included in another order until you open the item. Then you can see it on a separate row under "Quantity for Component Assembly."

What I mean is that we have 46 units in sales orders and 41 in stock, which means we’re missing 5 units, but it looks like we have 11 available.

What is the best way to solve this problem?

Or you can consider customization and create a factbox to display these values for reference.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

    You essentially have two options:

    1. Manual Tracking: If you manually track your inventory demand versus supply, you’ll need to monitor and reconcile the two regularly. Here are some methods to check your current inventory levels here.
    2. Using MRP: You can set up and use Material Requirements Planning (MRP). With MRP, the system will automatically reconcile your inventory demand and supply and suggest actions like creating purchase orders or assembly orders when needed. There is a lot on this topic, but you can start here
