Security Privileges for QuickCampaign

Posted on by 17
Hello,
One of our users managed to delete an entire quickcampaign and all associated emails disappeared from the contact records.
In order to prevent this in future, I went to disable Delete for quickcampaigns.  I can disable delete privileges for the Campaign table but I think I need to disable Delete privileges for the BulkOperation entity and I don't find that in the security mapping.
Anyone have any ideas on how to prevent dozy users from deleting quickcampaigns?  The rest of our team would be very grateful!
Thanks,
Sian

    Security Privileges for QuickCampaign
    Hello Sian,

Preventing Accidental Deletion of Quick Campaigns in Dynamics 365 Marketing
    Understanding the Problem:

The deletion of a quick campaign can have significant consequences, as it removes associated emails and other related data.

To prevent such accidental deletions, you can implement the following strategies

    1. Security Role Permissions

Restrict Delete Access: Ensure that only authorized users have the necessary permissions to delete quick campaigns.
Review Security Roles: Carefully examine the security roles assigned to users and remove the "Delete" privilege for the "Quick Campaign" entity.
Create a Custom Security Role: Create a custom security role with limited permissions, allowing users to perform necessary actions without the ability to delete quick campaigns.

    2. Workflow or Plugin

Disable Deletion: Create a workflow or plugin that triggers when a user attempts to delete a quick campaign.
Prevent Deletion: The workflow or plugin can prevent the deletion by throwing an error message or cancelling the operation.

    3. Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policies

Implement DLP Policies: Configure DLP policies to monitor and restrict actions that could lead to data loss, such as deleting important records.
Set Alerts: Set up alerts to notify administrators or security teams about potential data loss risks.

    Additional Tips

User Training: Educate users about the importance of data integrity and the potential consequences of accidental deletions.
Regular Backups: Maintain regular backups of your Dynamics 365 Marketing data to mitigate the impact of accidental deletions.
Review and Monitor User Permissions: Regularly review and monitor user permissions to ensure they are aligned with your organization's security policies.

By combining these strategies, you can significantly reduce the risk of accidental deletions and protect your valuable marketing data.
