Use of Change company and cross company

Hi team,

I have discuss there for Change company. But Martin suggested me for Cross company .

 

Here my question is,

When should I choose Change company and when should I choose Cross company?

 

What I understood,

 

Change company:  We think about it, when we focus on one company’s data only. 

 

Cross company = We think about it, when we focus on compare data across several legal entities.

 

Am I correct?

Pls advise, thanks

    They are actually very different things.

     

    changeCompany changes the current company context in a part of code. Everything that executes inside runs in this changed context. It's like if a user temporary switched to another company.

     

    crossCompany keyword influences what a single select statement returns. You may use to return data regardless of a company or return data from a selected set of companies.
