Purchase Order from Purchase Requisition blank PO header dimensions

When converting a PR to a PO, we have noticed that the PO header often has blank dimensions. Since multiple departments use the same vendors, we do not have default dimensions on the vendor records. These POs and PRs are for the project, so why don't the header dimensions default from the project dimensions? Is there a configuration to address this issue?

    Hi Wyman,

There is no configuration that will directly default the dimensions from the project on the purchase requisition header and purchase order header. You can consider a customization to merge or override the default dimensions from the project.

    Hi Wyman,

Agree with Andre, there is no Standard Configuration that forces header-level dimensions to always default from project/PR or project/PO. We can only consider to have a customization on the logic that we wanted.

    Hi @Wyman

I completely see eye to eye with Andre and Yng Lih. Unfortunately, there is no standard configuration in D365 F&SCM that allows financial dimensions from the project to be automatically defaulted on the purchase requisition header or purchase order header.

If you find this answer helpful, please consider verifying the answer. 👍

    Hi @Wyman

I can confirm what others are saying in this thread, as I have experienced this problem on a project very recently.

Purchase requisition default dimensions map to the lines of the Purchase Order, not the header, and it is due to the way these are related.

It has mapped to the header in the past, I believe it changes sometime in the 10.0.2x a couple of years ago.

You could possibly add some custom code to make the copy depending on your business logic requirements, but there's no way through config alone anymore.

    Thanks,
    Anthony
