Hi everyone,

I am a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer and would like to start learning Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

Could someone please guide me on how to get access or log in? Is there a free trial environment available for learning purposes? I would also appreciate recommendations for learning materials, documentation, or courses.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Khushbu,

Great to know you want to explore D365FO.

While few things are similar in both technologies you will notice D365FO uses a different technology stack (X++, Visual Studio, extensions, metadata model, deployable packages, etc.)

You can request for free trail here: https://www.microsoft.com/dynamics-365/free-trial

I would suggest to learn FO in few phases to you wont feel overloaded with all things in one shot,

Phase 0: Familierise yourself with UI and navigation.
Phase 1: Understand the platform (UDE, PPAC, DMF, Security framework, Integration, workflows etc)
Phase 2: Learn X++ (AOT objects, Event handler, Data entity, batch  etc), strongly recommend to check properties of each object , what can be extend or what not.
Phase 3: Learn development pattern (COC,  OData, SSRS report etc)
