Hi team,

As I have already worked in security framework. I have a confustion on "Permission" on Privilege. I mostly used to attach menu item to privilege only

Kindly how the permission will worked in Privilege in real world.

Pls advise, thanks

Hi

Privilege = permissions to entry points (menu items/service ops) + tables/data entities, each with an Access Level. Privilege contains permissions to individual application objects like user interface elements and tables — permissions group the securable objects and access levels required to run a function

Hi,

Your question is not fully clear to me. The security architecture tells you that security roles have different layers. There is:

Security role

Duties

Privileges

The privilege is the lowest level. This contains one or more menu items, data entities, service operations, form controls or table permissions.

You mentioned you attached a menu item only. In 95% of the cases, this is sufficient. As example the Purchase pools. This is one table, one form, and a menu item. In case you add permissions to the menu item, the same access is inherited on the form and for the table. Where you provided e.g. delete permissions, the user can read, create, update and delete records.

Each privilege is linked to a duty and a duty linked to the security role.

In case there are tables or fields used where the property AOS authorization has a specific value, you need to add them as table permissions on the privilege (or role) as well.
If the form has some controls where needed permission is set to Manual, you need to add the form controls in your privilege.

If you have a requirement to have full access to all data, except for one table or some fields that should not be visible or it should be read-only, you can use the table permissions as override to limit access.

Hi Andrea, yeah changed the title and gone through the suggested answers.

What I understood, suppose the table say example "Employee details" has AOSauthorozation access.

If I simply add the menu item to Privilege then user may got the "access denied" issue.

So, we need explicitly access on table permission under privilege , like read or, create, or delete.

So, based on that user will able to open the form without any issues.

Is am I correct? Pls advise thanks
