Copy Opportunity feature copies autonumber values (bug?)

Our users found currently released feature “Copy Opportunity” in the ribbon bar, so they used it.

But we have custom autonumber fields for Opportunity Numbers (to find the opportunities without sharing a link or within a powerbi report). The copied opportunity gets the same number as the original - so we cannot distinguish them.

Is there a way to configure which fields should be copied?

I have the same question (0)

Yes,but there is an important limitation with the new Dynamics 365 Sales “Copy opportunity” feature.
Microsoft’s current documentation states that all custom fields are copied automatically, including hidden and off-form custom fields. There is currently no configuration option to select which individual fields should or should not be copied
    Solution
    Option 1-Disable OOB Copy Opportunity
If your custom Opportunity Number is business-critical, this is the safest option.
    Microsoft provides an admin setting:
Sales Hub → App Settings → General Settings → Lead + Opportunity management → Opportunity management → Show "Copy opportunity" button → No
This removes the OOB Copy Opportunity functionality.
Then you can provide your own “Copy Opportunity” command using Power Automate/custom command/API logic where you explicitly control which fields are copied.
