How to get appsoure extension in On-Premise Business Central Server

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi experts,

I have an extension published to appsource and currently live now. I could download it from extension marketplace. But I could not find the extension markerplace for On-Premise business central server. How should  I install our extension. If other people want to use it, if it could not download it from appsoure. Whether we should provide our develop license to them and install the .app file use cmdlet?

Thanks in advance!!

You can do that exactly like with NAV. Two possible ways:

    - Create a service instance that runs with your developer license and this should be hidden to users

    - Use Powershell command:  Import-NAVServerLicense (my preferred way) for changing the lincese temporarily.

What normally I do is to create a new service with DEV license "on the fly" with New-NAVServerInstance, I publish the extension on that service and then I remove the service with Remove-NAVServerInstance.

Is that means I need upload our develop license to do that?

There's no AppSource access for D365BC on-premise yet. On-premise is up to you, you need to install the app to the customer's site.
