Create tracking dimension in D365FO

Hi Folks!

I am trying to add one more "Tracking Dimension" in system by using "InventDimension1" which is already available out of the box.
I followed the following links:
 
 
Purpose to use this extra tracking dimension to use "ProjId" to track dimensions. Fields get added throughout the system. But the problem is, whenever I try to select any project value by using this newly tracking dimension, it always throw an error:
"
The value '0' in field 'Project Id' is not found in the related table 'Projects'."
 
Although I have properly created the relations on InventDim table. and when I lookup it, it gives proper list of Projects:
 
 
But the moment, I select any of it, it throws following error:
 
Kindly suggest where am I doing wrong.

    Hi,
    Could you please elaborate more on the requirement?
    Have you already evaluated the possibility of using the "Item requirement" functionality from the Project module, or considered leveraging financial dimensions for this purpose?

    Regarding the error message — can you confirm whether the selected project exists in the same company/legal entity where you are creating the purchase order (PO)?

    In addition to Alirezas response, check the official documentation (if it exists) of adding a new inventory dimension to see if you missed anything. The error message in your post probably / typically indicates that the ProjId field of the Project table is not specified correctly somewhere in a relation or in code. Last but not least, you could also use the debugger to see where the error message is thrown.

    Please try to check the customization again, usually it's caused by the relationship or in the code. You can try to debug it.
    Otherwise, refer to the standard coding for ideas.
