Hello Team,
While working with the Cost Accounting module, I observed that when configuring the Data Source Provider for GL data, only Operating fiscal period transactions are considered, while Opening and Closing transactions are ignored. Additionally, the Fiscal Period Type field is grayed out and cannot be manually selected.
Our requirement is to bring Balance Sheet account values into Cost Accounting. However, opening balance transactions are not being imported.
For example, if Fixed Assets have been maintained in Dynamics since 2020 and we want to start cost allocations from 2026, the allocation basis in Cost Accounting does not match the corresponding GL balance. This discrepancy occurs because the GL balance includes both Opening and Operating transactions, whereas Cost Accounting appears to consider only Operating transactions.
Could you please confirm whether there is a way to include opening balance values in Cost Accounting, or if there is an alternative approach to ensure that Balance Sheet balances are accurately reflected for allocation purposes?
Thanks,
