After dual‑write is enabled, the CRM’s product number included with company code + product number

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with the F&O integration in Dynamics CRM. We have enabled dual-write mapping for the Customer - account entity . After syncing, due to the internal relationship between Company and Product, some fields on the Product entity have become mandatory.

Please note, we have not enabled dual-write mapping for the Product entity. However, when creating a Product record in CRM, the Company and msdyn_productnumber fields are now required. CRM already has an existing productnumber field set up as an auto-number, but due to the F&O integration, it’s being overridden with companycode + msdyn_productnumber from integration layer

As per our requirement, we do not want to populate Company and msdyn_productnumber when creating a Product. However, the system currently mandates them. Has anyone else faced this issue or found a workaround? Is this a standard behaviour ?

I meant integration layer as the solutions that we installed on dataverse for dual write integration.
