UOM creating strange Purchase Requests

Can anyone help me understand the issue from my MRP run? I have an item where the UOM is "PCS" on the item card, and that is what we want to purchase in. When we consume this item on a BOM through a Production Order we consume in "mm" 1 pcs = 50,000mm (5 mtr rolls). My MRP is giving me messages to ordrer PCS based on fixed reorder on the item card, but it is also asking me to order in "mm" based on Productoin requirements. But the costings is not as expected. Below is a screenshot showing the purchase suggestions:

You have your UOM conversion backward.  MM is the smaller unit, you currently have 1 MM = 50000 PCS, you stated it should be 1 PCS = 50000 MM.  The Quantity Per Unit on the MM line should be 1/50000; which will leave you with a decimal in your Quantity on Hand as soon as you consume some.

Ideally you would have had MM as your Base Unit of Measure, which would avoid fractional inventory.  You could have used Lots to track the "PCS" (rolls) and how much was left in each roll.

At this point updating your Quantity Per Unit on the MM UOM will resolve your purchasing issue, as long as you are okay with seeing decimals in your Quantity.

I'd still encourage using Lot Tracking if you want visibility into the number of rolls and remaining quantity per roll, but this also requires your team recording which roll was used during consumption to stay accurate.

As for the system suggesting to purchase in MM, I'm not sure it is.  I think you need to add the UOM to your Planning Worksheet line to verify.  If it is suggesting MM, check your Reordering Policy settings for the SKU record.

The item card shows the correct purchase UOM (PCS), and I beleieve the base UOM is also PCS.

    Hello,

Can you attach the item unit of measure table and the production BOM table?

On the item card you can have a base unit of measure, and a purchase unit of measure. Are both set as PCS or is your purchase unit of measure set as mm?
