Hello All!

Is there a way to Block Access to "Open In Excel" on all forms via Security Configuration?

If not, can a privilege be created by a developer for this (examples please if you have one)?

Thanks

Paul

Cheers Andre, you are right the as you have provided the correct solution on the other thread, which refers to individual data entities. I was sleeping typing, did not focused on, what was being asked.

    HI Paul,

This question was asked before. There is a difference between Open in Excel and Export to Excel. You can ready my reply at the previous question here which also talks about securing the underlying data entities: Solved: Block Export to Excel

    Hi @Paul V,

It is discussed in detail in these threads..

In case you set deny permission to ExportToExcelExportForm action menuitem, it will also restrict the Export to Excel option and Export rows from the Grid.
User will not have access to Open in Excel if the related data entities are not given in the permission.

Do you still want to give the Data entities access to these users to do import export? If not, then just ensure to exclude those privileges which is giving access to particular entity.

    Regards,
    Neeraj Kumar

Yes, Create a new Privilege and add following objects with deny permission for all states.

    Action Menu Items:
    ExportToExcelExportForm
    ExportToExcelStaticOpenFileAction

    Display Menu Item:
    ExportToExcelWorkbookDesigner

    All set to Deny.

Apart from that, back in days, I also created a project for community, but that was for old version AX2012. I may upgrade that project at some point in the near future. https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/post/?postid=d9ce9b89-0219-427b-b969-cfd85c0aa883
