    Hi,
Based on your screenshot, it looks like you're creating the monthly columns correctly using Comparison Period Formula values like FY[1], FY[2], etc. Could you clarify what you mean by "unable to create"?
    Are you:
    • Receiving an error when saving the column definition?
    • Unable to add additional monthly columns?
    • Or are the monthly values not appearing in the financial report?
Sharing the exact error message or a screenshot of the issue would help narrow down the cause.

    Hello Sanna,

I have found the solution. I was updating the column definition but when running the report it was using a different one and so I could not see any of my updates. Thanks for checking.

Glad you found the issue. Selecting the correct Column Definition in the Financial Report should ensure the latest changes are reflected.

What I usually do is use comparison date formulas to accomplish this task.

First, open your column report definition and create a comparison date formula for each date:
You can see above I have -1m for november, -2m for october and so on.

The next step is very important, enter your date filter as the last month of the year (December in my example):

You will now have a report with net change each month and a total for the year. You can also add columns for prior year or variances or other values if needed.

See example of working report, you can confirm its working by drilling into the values, for example if I click on the July amount here:

It has a date filter on those values for July:

There are also other ways to build financial report definitions but I find this way to be simple, quick and accurate. You can also use the way you mentioned.
