Approval processes in Customer Insight Journeys

Posted on by 9
Hello,
I just need some ideas or guidance on approval processes for various Customer Insights - Journeys components please.
How would I incorporate an approval process for:
  • Journeys - prevent users from going live with a journey before it is approved.
  • Marketing Assets - prevent unapproved images from being used in emails.
  • Emails and SMS messages - require emails and SMSs to be approved before marking them Ready to Send.
Is the best approach to set up a Power Automate flow to kick off an approval process once the email or Journey goes live?

Are there any permissions I need to set via security roles to manage this process?
I see in the security roles there are options for Customer journeys and Journeys. Is the Journey Run Parameter the permission that I need to remove to prevent the user from making this journey live (and then allow this on another security role assigned to a manager)?

The same for emails and forms.

Thank you in advance for your ideas and support.

    Hey,

is there also a way to implement an approval process for uploading files to the asset library? It seems that the uploading pop-up is some kind of custom control.

    Best regards,
    Mario

Thank you @Paul Adams and @Dengliang Li, this gives me confidence that I am on the right track with the approval process and not missing anything easier. The approval will have to be implemented in Realtime Journeys as the client will only go live with CI-Journeys in June this year.
It looks like I might need to include some custom code to prevent going live/publishing with any component that has not been approved yet.
Apologies for the late reply, the notifications ended up in my junk folder and I missed them there.

    Customizing the Designer:

    Enhancing Status Reasons:

    • Modify the status reasons within the Contact Journey to align them with real-time marketing. This process can closely resemble the approach detailed in the Outbound Marketing post. Consider adding values such as "Approved" and "Awaiting Approval."

    Implementing the Approval Process:

    • Create a Power Automate flow to facilitate the approval process. This can be easily achieved using Approval Flows. Ensure that the approval process is triggered when changes are made to the Contact Journey, and that the necessary approvals are obtained.

I hope this refined version of your instructions helps convey the steps more clearly. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask.
