Purchase journal batch posting stuck in posting status

So one of our associates have triggered an entry to post but the VAT date was beyond the allowed posting. We're currently using batch posting all journals. Now this entry has been stuck in Posting Status.

We've tried restarting the instance, deleted/cancelled all job queue entries related to codeunit 250. Still, we cannot cancel the posting.
There was a button before under Actions menu to cancel the job but its all gone now.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Van032

Please move this question into business central forum instead of D365FO.

    Hi,
the "Posting" status is the real problem here, not the job queue entry. When a line shows Posting it means a background session was actually mid-post — if the instance restart killed that session, nothing is left to reset the line back to blank. That's why deleting the entries didn't help. Normally deleting the job queue entry resets the line, but once it's already in Posting and the session is dead, that path is gone. The cancel action under Actions disappears for the same reason, BC still thinks it's in progress.

From what I seen, you can't fix this from the journal page anymore. The Job Queue Status field on the line has to go back to blank. On-prem a quick dev job or a SQL update clears it. On cloud you can't touch it directly, so a small cleanup codeunit or a support ticket is the way.

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.
â–º  If this solved it, marking it verified helps others too.
