Inventory value and GL trial balance mismatch after closing

We have found discrepancy in inventory value and GL trial balance after inventory closing. We have ram potential conflict report in which it has only few direct postings which has minor values and those are nullified as well. The discrepancy is about 12k. What should we compare ? I ly inventory account vs GL trial balance or other accounts as well? I have ran on hand consistency check as well but the discrepancy increased to 3 million. Please suggest. Any parameters need to be checked to adjust the discrepancy?

    Hello, 
     
    You can compare the trial balance value with this main account set into the inventory module.
    I'm assuming that the main accounts set into the following configuration weren't used in another configuration.
     
    Open the inventory posting profile (go to: Inventory management> Setup> Posting> Posting).
    Configuration potentially involved are:
    tab inventory
    - Inventory issue
    - Inventory receipt
    tab purchase
    - Cost of purchased materials received
    - Cost of purchased materials invoiced
    tab sales
    - Cost of units, invoiced
    - Cost of units, delivered
    tab production
    - Manufactured cost

    If you have changed the posting profiles, that can also happen.

    I have checked the posting profiles setups in which only one account have been used for the below mentioned profiles and that was not used for any other profiles. Additionally I have ran potential conflict report and on hand consistency check as well but in conflict report it only shown 4 direct postings and that to it nullified. Consistency check increased the discrepancy.please help

    Your delta can have two main causes:
    • Transactions recorded in inventory but not in the GL, which can be identified using the conflict report shared before.
    • Transactions recorded in the GL but not in inventory, which can be investigated through voucher transactions using the voucher structure.
     
    You can use the inventory report and switch from "total" to "transaction" to see the specific transactions involved. When you do this, generate the report item by item.
