Setting up price adjustments and discounts

Follow up to previous question please:

in DYN2012-R2 - if I have products A / B .  Product A has about 20 children in it's hierarchy and one specific item that comes in a variety AS & AP.  Product B also has 12 children in its hierarchy and one specific product BP.  when I marry any of product A (but not AP) to any of product B, discount applies $1. (AS + BP, the discount is also $1 as as just stated) but when I marry AP to BP discount should be $2.  the business asked me to include these scenarios in one single discount code, and to uncheck the [Discount Code required] box so that when associate adds products in POS, the discount applies correctly to any combination.

Is there a solution to this? or no due to system limitations? the Mix & Match failed to apply correctly between these scenarios.

this site https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/setting-up-price-adjustments-and-discounts does not mention how to use the "Pricing Priority" function.. can you point me to the right article?
