Remove Completed Purchase Orders Routine / Change Item Decimal Place

Hi,

Please can someone let me know if the (Tools --> Routines --> Purchasing --> Remove Completed Purchase Orders) permanently deletes the purchase orders or just put them into history?

I suggested to a customer this as they wanted to change the decimal place on an item from 5 to zero but they could not do it and I think due to there being purchase orders against the item, by running this routine I think it lets them do it. I did suggest de-activating the item and creating a new one but this would not an option for them. Is there another way around this?

If they did run the routine would it permanently delete the PO’s affected would GP also permanently delete any shipments and invoices which have been matched to those PO’s?

Thanks,

    Hi abutler1986,

The Remove Completed Purchase Orders routine just moves PO's that are completed to history, meaning it moves them from POP10100 and POP10110 to the POP30100 and POP30110 tables. They are still available in the inquiry windows as well as have the Receipts and Invoices still associated with them as well.If you wanted to remove them completely from the system, then you would want to follow that up by running the Remove Purchasing History Utility (Tools --> Utilities--> Purchasing --> Remove Purchasing History), in this window you can remove the PO's as well as the Receipt history as well.

I hope this information helps answer your question.
