Procurement Parameters / Inventory Dimensions

Hi All

Can anyone explain the use of the 'stock dimensions' tab as part of the procurement and sourcing parameters form.

My understanding was that turning fields here for 'purchase order lines' would mean they appeared by default when I opened a purchase order and looked at the lines?

However, having turned on ALL the fields I still can't see certain fields - these being GTD NUMBER, STOCK PROFILE, SIZE, SERIAL NUMBER, BATCH NUMBER, SITE or WAREHOUSE. I think some may be country specific such as GTD & STOCK PROFILE but not the others.

Certain ones I can understand as (for example) there could be multiple serial numbers for one p/o line but why wouldn't I be able to see site & warehouse or size?

Even if I click on the purchase order line > display > dimensions and turn on these fields (i.e. warehouse & site as an example) they still don't appear - even after a full form refresh via F5.

The only way I can get these fields to appear is if I right click on the p/o line grid, choose 'add columns' and select them there.

    Hi Miller,

Strange, I have checked just now my all fields are working except those country specific fields such as the GTD number. Does your user has all the rights to access these fields or their is a restriction?

Also try creating a new PO when you have done some changes.

    Warm Regards,

    Zain

    Hi Miller,

Yes, the below is the official doc for ‘stock dimension’.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../procurement-and-sourcing-parameters-form

In normal, we use the option ‘Dimensions’ to add the needed field in the PO line.

Do you mean that even the field ‘site’ and ‘warehouse’ wont display in the purchase order line unless you add them by using 'add columns'?

    Hi

Yes that's correct - the only way I can get site & warehouse or size onto the form is by using 'add columns'...it makes no sense.

I can only presume it has something to do with personalisation and something I may have done in the past (maybe hiding those columns???) which has screwed it up.

When I click on dimensions it shows all the fields I have chosen using the parameters as selected?

    arghhhhh! :-(

    Hi

I have tried a new p/o and done a full refresh of the screen - been out and back in of D365 but no difference.

    Hi Miller,

Does this happen on one user or all users?

Which version are you using? Do you do any customization in this?

You can try to reset Usage data and open the purchase order again.

    Regards,

additionally any user settings, saved views may trump over default parameters,

flush them out as suggested by QuanQW and should be able to see the inventory dimension on PO line

    Hi

In the end I had to clear personalisation - that fixed the problem.

    Thanks for your help.
