    Hello sdnd2000,

You're on the right track wanting to create a subscription center and subscription lists in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys (formerly Dynamics 365 Marketing). However, the way you create and manage these has changed slightly.

Here's a breakdown of how to create subscription centers and lists in Real-time journeys, and what you might be missing:

    Key Concepts:

    • Preference Centers (Replaces Subscription Centers): In Real-time journeys, the concept of a "subscription center" is now handled by "Preference Centers."

    • Purpose (Replaces Subscription Lists): "Purposes" are used to manage the types of communications users can opt in or out of.

    •

Steps to Create a Preference Center:

    1. Create Purposes:

      • Go to Settings > Customer engagement > Purposes.

      • Click + New to create a new purpose.

      • Give your purpose a descriptive name (e.g., "Newsletter," "Product Updates," "Event Invitations").

      • Set the Enforcement option to "Commercial" or "Transactional" as appropriate.

      • Save your purpose.

      • Repeat this for all the subscription options you want to offer.

    2. Create a Preference Center Form:

      • Go to Forms > Marketing forms.

      • Click + New.

      • Select the "Preference center" form type.

      • Add the "Purpose" field to the form. This will allow users to select the subscriptions they want.

      • Customize the form with your branding and any other necessary fields.

      • Publish the form.

    3. Add a Link to Your Preference Center:

      • In your email content, add a link to your Preference Center form.

      • You can use the "Insert link" feature in the email editor and paste the URL of your published Preference Center form.

      • You can use the assist edit functionality to add the link.

    What You Might Be Missing:

    • Terminology Change: The shift from "subscription centers" to "preference centers" and "subscription lists" to "purposes" can be confusing if you're used to the older terminology.

    • Form-Based Management: Preference centers are now managed through marketing forms, giving you more flexibility in customizing the user experience.

    • Real Time Journeys: Real time journeys uses purposes, and preference centers. The older style marketing lists are not used in real time journeys.

    •

    Important Notes:

    • Compliance: Ensure your Preference Center form complies with all relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).

    • Testing: Thoroughly test your Preference Center form to ensure it's working correctly.

    • Documentation: Refer to the official Microsoft documentation for the latest information on preference centers and purposes in Real-time journeys.
