Hi,

We are creating new demo instance in AX 7. We deployed package from Dev instance and copied to demo instance and we have imported package successfully in new demo instance.

surprisingly tables are not imported in new demo VM. Did I miss any step to import Tables?

Are tables include in deployment package?

Please share some link.

Regards,

Smit Patel

    Hi Smit,

    Can you explain what you mean with a package? A package can contain customizations, ISV solution, data etc.

    If it is related to Data Management, what tables were exported with what parameters? Can you provide some more information?

    Hi Andre,

    Deployment Package I mean from VS of Dev machine we go to Dynamics AX 7 and under that Create Deployable package.

    Please refer below link we have done same process

    community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-deploy-a-package-ax7

    By table means any customized table (new or old). Forms is getting displayed but from SSMS there is no table imported.

    Should we export and import model too? I can not see model under ApplicationSuite. Model is in which we have developed our customizations.

    Hi Smit,

    Thank for clarifying the question.

    When the process was done correctly, the DB sync is one of the last steps of the runbook. So the tables should be created during deployment. Have you reviewed if there were some errors during the deployment on the target machine?

    It is not required to move the model too. This is only when you want to deliver the source coding to your customers.

    Hi Andre,

    In last runbook file it is showing as below

    <GlobalUpdateScript>

             <FileName>AutoDeployReportAndSyncDB.ps1</FileName>

             <Automated>true</Automated>

             <Description>Sync AX database</Description>

             <RetryCount>0</RetryCount>

             <InvokeWithPowershellProcess>false</InvokeWithPowershellProcess>

           </GlobalUpdateScript>

    it seems like Database sync is not done. Can we sync it now? or we have to deploy package again?

    Smit

    Hi Andre,

    We have synchronized it from Visual studio and all tables are coming properly now with form too. We have created data entities for some tables. But data entities are not populating in cloud though staging tables are there at back end.

    Do we have to create it manually as we create when we add data entity in development environment?

    Hi Smit,

    On the data import export framework parameters there is an option to refresh the entity list. This should sort your latest question.

    Hi Andre,

    We have tried in similar way. But it didn't resolve issue. We created it manually. I think that list page which includes all data entities is DMFEntity table at back end and it is containing records of table relations for data entities. So ideally it should not move to other environment(those records). But Data Entities (Elements) will definitely move to new environment. So we have to create those records manually again in new VM. It won't need VS for same so we can create same in PROD environment too.

    Regards,

    Smit
