In my business, we need to collect customer cell number and consent in person or verbally in order to text (SMS) them. We usually have service reps that interact with our customers in person, and they're equipped with FS tablets.
This may be a naive question but I'm new to D365 and Field Service: what's the best way of collecting this consent? Do you create a parallel work order for "consent collection", have them read the verbiage and sign that ? (in addition to the work order for servicing)
Or is there another way?
Thank you so much.
There are likely lots of different options depending on your exact requirement, e.g. how you need to store the consent (document vs. entity). A simple approach would be a work order report that the customer needs to sign. Another idea: Make this the first Work Order Service Task and capture the signature on that task. A custom entity with a signature would work, too. Whatever option you choose, I would keep it in the context of the current work order, not create a separate one as this creates a lot of overhead and messes up the schedule.
Thank you for using the Dynamics communities. Another option would be to use the built in features of the FS mobile App - docs.microsoft.com/.../field-service-mobile-app-user-guide. You could capture a signature, attach a file giving consent or take a picture of the customer signature on a form.
