Why Ledger voucher is not created when posting Freetext invoice with zero amount

Hello experts,

Im working on AX 2012 R2 and R3.

When i try to post a free text invoice with invoice amount = 0, there are ledger vouchers created in R3 server but not in R2 server. Could any one tell me why? I also tried to debug the operation but they seem like the same.

Any supports would be appreciated.

I double checked that behavior in a standard R3 machine and got the same outcome.

That is, a $0 voucher is created.

I would have expected that none is created but AX creates it.

If you need more information what has exactly changed between R2 and R3 and why your system behaves different, you can do the following:

1. check out the following website:

docs.microsoft.com/.../what-s-new-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-r3

2. If the information provided on the docs site is not sufficient / detailed enough then contact the MS support and ask for more details.

There is my operation of creating freetext invoice

1. Freetext invoice line

2. Freetext invoice header

3. post the invoice

4. check freetext invoice journal

5. Voucher screen there are vouchers with zero amount

6. Subledger Journal screen

I would expect that no voucher is created.

Can you share a screenprint of the voucher that gets created when you post a $0 free text invoice?

Also share details how the free text invoice is entered.

Actually Im working on upgrade from R2 to R3. The customer wonder why with the same operation but 0$ voucher is created in R3 but not in R2, I dont know which one is correct. Could you explain?

Hi,

I would expect that no voucher is created.

If you got a voucher previously then there must have gone something wrong because vouchers are not generated for $0 postings.

Why is it that you need this $0 voucher?

What is the business scenario behind?
