How to enable Unified routing

Hi all,

Newbie here.

I am looking at the routing options for incidents(cases) to a particular queue. I came across Unified routing which appears to be disabled nad needs to be disabled by tennat administrator. Just wondering in what scenarios the unified routing would need to be enabled.
