IIS error on OneBox VHD

Hi,

Normally setting up VHD on hyper-v is smooth.

Here are somethings which are different while setting up this VHD which is giving the IIS error.

pastedimage1615266004114v1.png

1. It was setup on NUTANIX AHV not with Hyper-V hypervisor.

2. It was linked to the local domain. (By default it's not on any domain). So the user account now is domain\user. Not \Administrator

I was able to successfully run the AdminUserProvisioning. But I'm unable to start the web app. I guess it might be due to the permission issues for the domain\user? I'm directly logging onto the VM from my machine and it has FortiClient VPN setup as well.

Appreciate any tips. Thanks.

Regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi MYGz,

Did you get any error message from Windows Event log?

What network environment the VM is currently in?

I tried check the error logs under Application in Windows Event Viewer. Didn't see anything there.

The VM is running in the Customer's internal Network. I connect it via RDP with FortiClient VPN setup.

    Hi MYGz,

What is the reason why you changed the domain on the VM? There are a lot of pre-configurations which then probably need to be changed accordingly. Indeed, some permissions might be incorrect now.

The IT guy from customer side was asking, so I said you can try. Now I was trying if it can be fixed with few changes. Otherwise will re setup.

Have you tried putting HTTPS in front (instead of http?)

Wow, so I requested him to set it up again without domain. Was getting the same error again.

I was using url without any protocol, directly starting like so: usconebox.....

Prefixing with https:// resolved the issue. I am now able to connect. Though should have tried it when it was on domain as well.

Don't know why https is required, when I am using same vm in different machine without any protocol.

Thanks a lot Joris. And others too for the inputs.

You need https for authentication. But the reason you're seeing this is that the VM is just not configured to handle http (port 80). So it just goes to the default IIS site instead of the AOSService one. Hence the default IIS page you're seeing.

    Been there, done that :-)

Just noticed, on the other machine when I type usco(then it pops the link) and enter, it sticks in the https on its own. Thanks Joris.
