System fields Createdby and Modified by are not getting updated as logged in user.

Hi
I created a custom table in Dataverse. This table has the system fields Created by and Modified By, which should get updated as logged in user in CRM when a new record is created by that user.
This is in our DEV environment.
However these fields are always showing my user name, irrespecitve of the user who is creating records.

When I created the table these fields were created automatically and are non-editable lookup fields related to the System user table in Dataverse.

Please help, where I could have gone wrong in creating this table

Thanks
Nalina

Verify the environment settings to ensure that there are no configurations that might be causing this behavior. Sometimes, specific settings in the DEV environment can lead to such issues.

Also please check if there are any plugins or workflows that might be overriding these fields. Sometimes custom logic can inadvertently set these fields to a specific user.

    Hi VaHiX,
Thanks for your response. I forgot to add that there is an Embedded canvas app on CRM page which runs flow to update the table.
    I am the flow owner.

Not sure how the Canvas app or the flow can pick up the logged in user credentials and pass on to the dataverse table being updated.

Whatever account I use to run the flow that account will get logged.

From online documentation I got to know that using User().FullName - will give the logged user name in canvas app.

Even then to update the Created by fields (which is readonly) will not be possible.

    How to go about this.

    Thanks
    Nalina

    Hello User,

If you have created a workflow and updating this field then you have to set "The user who made changes to the record" setting and not in the owner of the workflow..

    Thank you,
    Amit katariya

    Thanks Amit,
Yes your suggestion seems to be the right way. Will try that for sure.
