Import records with lookup field from related entity

Hello,

I am trying to import new records for a custom entity. On the entity form there is a lookup field to Account. My file I am trying to import looks like this:

So I have added the account number field from the related account entity to be able to connect this new record to an account with account number. We have Accounts with duplicate Account names, which is why we need to use account number to identify the correct account.

But when I import this file, the new record is created but the Account has not been populated in the lookup field. What am I doing wrong?

Did you set the account number field as the reference?

Hello,

I just tried it but now the record is not imported at all. I get the following error:

I am importing an excel file from my custom entity view or do I need to save it as a CSV file first and then import it?

Hi partner,

Have you tried to populate both Account lookup field and Account Number field in the imported Excel?

yes I tried but when I review the mapping before importing I can only map one of the fields to account entity, when I have selected account for one of them, it is not showing in the list for the other field.

Hi Emma,

This is my import mapping.

The Account lookup field maps "Company Name (lookup)", Account Number field maps "Ignore". I imported it successfully with this mapping.
