Can anyone please advise whether a flight enabled in a T1 environment will still be enabled if that T1 DB is used for gold configuration promotion? Feels like it should, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if not.

Hi Rich,

I don't know what will happen. I haven't tried this myself, but I wonder about the purpose here.

Usually a golden configuration environment will not be overwritten. It is the source for other environments, like UAT or Production.
What exact flight do you need to have enabled?

I've managed to misdirect you: we are using the golden configuration as source, not attempting to overwrite it. If we enable the flight in Gold whilst it's a T1 DB, and then use that DB to create a bacpac that's applied to UAT or Production (as you say), will the flight still be enabled in UAT/Production? Specifically, we're looking at VendPaymProposalInheritBankSummarizationConfigFlight in 10.0.41, as per LCS issue 958070

I've heard somewhere (I don't know where) that SysFlighting is used only on T1 boxes and the information is stored elsewhere in T2+. If it's true, the DB move won't activate the flight in the target environment.

MS Support have confirmed that T1-DB-enabled flights will not persist when promoted to a T2 environment. I've suggested it might be worth including a note alongside the "Reconfigure environment settings", though I appreciate this scenario is probably pretty rare.
