Hi,

is there a way to delete record from global address book? Fx. invalid records from integration.

I always get "Primary address cannot be deleted.", but I didn't find way to delete primary address before deleting from address book.

Thanks for any advice.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

If the Part in Global address book is related to customer, vendor, worker , contact or legal entity, you need to remove (i.e. if possible) the relation. For example, if you have created this part as customer in company A, you need to delete the customer and then you delete the part (i.e. Global address book).

If you have customization or integration for creating parts in D365FO (i.e. create records in Global Address Book), you need to test if the standard routine is still applicable to remove a part from Global Address Book.

    Hi,

thank you for your quick reaction.

All relations are removed. Only thing on record is primary address. Which for some reason can't be removed.

    Hi,

Have you tried to delete the Part?

I think you cannot delete just the primary address.

Yes that is exactly what I did. I went to global address book, checked that there is no relation and tried delete on party record.

Warning message shows "Primary address cannot be deleted."

Imho I need way to remove primary from the address which doesn't seem to be possible, or delete the address directly.

Please check if there is customization in the solution that avoid deleting a part from Global address book.

If you can reproduce the issue in Dev environment, you can ask the developer to debuge the issue to provide you root cause for this issue.

    Hi Jerry,

I have reproduced your issue. I think it could be considered as a bug. There is a workaround.

    1. Go to the Global address book parameters and enable the option Delete party with no roles.
    2. From the global address book form, create for the party a customer, vendor, contact, or another role.
This could consume a number from the number sequence.
    3. Navigate to the created customer, vendor, contact, or other role.
    4. Delete the record. When there is no other role linked to the party, it will delete the party.

This seems to be working fine as a workaround. Thank you.
