Installing DIXF for data manipulation

Hello guys, this is my setup

1 AOS server

1 DB Server

1 File Server

I want to install DIXF and from my understanding, DIXF has 3 components. (Service, AOS, Client) the AOS is to be installed on the AOS server, The service is to install on the DB server and the client installed on any AOT client PC.

MY problem: Each time I try to install DIXF services in the DB server it keeps asking me for .Net framework 4.5(this is already installed on the server but it's still asking for it) one solution to that is to uninstall all versions of .Net Framework and then install .net Framework 4.5. I cannot uninstall this .Net Framework because it is apart of Server2012 OS. However, I can do it on the file server(listed above) as this is a 2008r2 server.

Question: Can I go ahead and install DIXF on the file server? this server has SQL server 2012 management Studio installed and also has SSAS installed. SSIS running

PS. The service is needed because when installing DIXT on the AOT server it will as for a server that runs the DIXF service.

I really need this to work today please anyone, please advise.

Hi Lionel07,

Your understanding of the service component is incorrect. It is not related to the database server.

The Service component should be installed on the server running SSIS. This is in many cases the same as the database server. Now from your post, I do understand that it is running on the File server. In that case, the service should be installen on your file server.

Hi Andre,

I ran the installer, but still giving error by the pre requirement .net framework 4.5. The installed version 4.7.2 .net framework. The server has windows server 2012 and SSIS

How can I fix the problem?

Which version of AX are you installing? Do you have any cumulative updates (CU) slipstreamed? I think that .NET 4.7 is supported from CU12 (for AX 2012 R3).

Hi Martin,

Which exact setup files are you using here? As of AX 2012 R2 with CU7 DIXF was included in the setup media. Before that you could download a beta version from LCS.

Hi Martin,

I am not sure whether below input helps you, Just give a try !

Can you check your respective .Net components are enabled under the windows feature on or off ? and run the set up file with administrator.

According to Systems Requirements, AX 2012 R2 CU6 doesn't support .NET Framework 4.7. The support was added in CU9.

The DIFX service was installed but by mistake it was uninstalled. You want to install on the same server, but throw the error. We try to install it on windows server 2012 R2 but it throws the same error. The installation file is the beta version
