Can I convert an Opportunity directly to an Order, skipping Quote

The way we are using D365 Sales Professional is that prior to an actual sale everything is managed at the opportunity. We use an external tool to create quotes in Excel format, and attach as documents to the opportunity. When we get a PO for a new sale we do the following:

  1. Convert the Opportunity to a Quote
  2. Activate the Quote
  3. Convert the Quote to an Order (which closes the opportunity as Won).

I would like to skip the first two steps and simply create the Order directly from the Opportunity(still closing it as Won). Is this possible?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Dan,

Yes, we can convert Opportunity to Order.

Edit the Opportunity form, insert a tab, and insert a sub-grid in the tab, the entity of sub-grid is Orders(Opportunity).

Then we create a real-time workflow for Order, the step is Change Status.

This way, in the Opportunity form, there is a sub-grid of Order in a tab, we click "+New Order" button of the sub-grid, an Order will be generated, and the Opportunity will be closed as won.
