Relations between data sources in Data Entity

I'm trying to understand the relationships between tables in the VendorInvoiceHeaderEntity data entity.

For example, the property for the HcmWorker datasource under the VendInvoiceInfoTable datasource indicates it's an outer join and Relations will be used:

Neither of these tables have a relation defined referencing the other table.

In the data entity itself, there's a relation called HcmWorker so I thought this would define the relationship but the details are blank:

How is D365 determining which field(s) to join these two tables on?

Hi Jackie,

If you give "use Relation" property to Yes on the relation property - It will fetch the relation directly from the table. No need to manually mention the related field under relation properties.

VendInvoiceInfoTable and HcmWorker table is related through Approver and RecId field. Refer to the below screenshot.

Hi Jackie,

When you set "use Relations" to yes, it means that you don't want to insert the relation manually and that you want to use the relation specified on table "VendInvoiceInfoTable" that relates to "HCMWorker" table.

If you set "Use Relations" to No, then you'll need to add the relation yourself which is

'VendInvoiceInfoTable.Approver = HCMWorker.RecId"
