What is the database of Field Service

Hi expert,

This is probably the stupidest question in this forum, forgive me because I'm coming from F&O. So as the subject, I just want to ask a confirmation, is CDS is Field Service (or actually other Dynamics 365 CRM, not F&O) database ? or you guys still using SQL Server ?

Reason is I'm also studying the Dual-Write, so it is kinda confuse me, as when update F&O data to CDS using that Dual-Write, is it actually updating Dynamics 365 "direct" database, or CDS is the middle database whereby these 2 "Dynamics apps" meet to share data ?

    Field Service, Sales, Customer Service, etc. are all based on CDS.

    Hi Alexander,

    I'm sorry, "based" by means it is their database ?

    So I'm correct to say if I'm doing Dual Write, it is updating those apps direct database ?

    Correct! "Field Service is built on top of Common Data Service and dual-write, which writes changes in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management to Common Data Service and vice versa. [...] When a record is created or updated in either system, the change will show in the other system in near real time."
