Hi All,
I already have experience in D365 Finance. Where can I obtain Power BI training that after training, I can hit the ground running?
I saw a few courses in Learning Portal, but I had a hard time to generate output after each session. Does anyone have any suggestions? Does Microsoft have a training course in person? Thanks so much!
You can ask same question on power bi forum to get better suggestions and links for material .

Hello Kim,
The easiest and cheapest way to get started is going through the learning materials that are available on powerbi.com.
On this site you can find a 'learn' section where you can get started.
If this is not enough then have a look at the PowerBI user group website where you can find additional sources.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Kim,
If you have access to Azure DevOps (can create a free account), mostly links to Power BI Microsoft docs and free video tutorial available for learning.
Thanks
Shilpi
Thank you, Shilpi. You mention a good point. I couldn't register a user account in Power BI using the same access that I have with AX Community. I don't have access to Azure DevOps.
I have a lot of materials for guiding you understand the functional and technical concept of Power Bi. Please DM me.
Greats,
Rega
HI Regasanyoto,
What environment can I download to practice the Power BI? Thanks
It depends what you want to do in PowerBI. Do you have any specific topics you want to cover or do you want to understand PowerBI itself?
You have posted in the D365Finance forum so I assume you want to check D365F in combination with PowerBI. If you have access to LCS you can download a HyperV image to run it on your local machine. But therefore you have some hardware requirements (especially RAM and disk space). Another possibility is to deploy an environment in Azure but therefore you have to pay...
Thanks, Christoph, for taking the time to respond. I don't have access to LCS. I can pay. Do you know how much? Can I google Azure? Sorry, I'm not very technical :-(
I appreciate any information or links that you can provide. Thanks so much!
If you do not have LCS it will be a challenge because you need LCS for that. The only option you have is to try it via the trails under https://trials.dynamics.com/.
To be honest I don’t know if it is possible there to play with PowerBI. Some basic report should be possible by retrieving data with odata but I‘m not sure. But do not retrieve a large table as Odata is not designed for that purpose.
You can try it.....
if LCS and trial does not work out then try and get the local VM for D365FO app and then use it
if just want to learn PowerBi without D365FO then could do it without VM as well
also look for PowerBI topics here
