How to create Read and Update security roles for InventItemOrderSetup form?

Hii,

We have following Default order settings form navigation from Released products -> Manage Inventory tab -> Order settings -> Default order settings Form.

By default all users having access to this form, all fields are editable in all tabs to them.

What we want is to make all fields read only (all users can see), but only users we assign new security role should edit it??

How to achieve it? I tried by setting InventItemOrderSetup form NeededPermission property to Read but no affect.

Thanks,

Find the menu item fot default order settings.

Create 2 security privileges in AOT and put menu item into them.

Set access level to read to one privilege and update to another.

Then you can assign this privilege to needed roles and roles to users.

    Hii,

I created two Privileges for them MenuItem of InventItemOrderSetup form. One for Read and one for Update and assigned to Roles.

I assigned read role to a user, but he still can edit all fields as before.

Please see the privilege and role..

    Hi Rana Anees!

Check the other roles what assigned to the user (if user has more than one single role). Maybe another role has InventItemOrderSetup form and Update access level.

    Salam!

    Dear Anees,

I don't think you need to go in AOT, You just select the role and apply "Override permissions" and disable the fields you want. Please visit the following link for the question "How to Restrict Field Access By Security Role":

    Hi Rana,

If the user has one or more security roles containing a privilege with higher access rights, the access is overwritten. Please check if the user has possibly higher access from another privilege.

    Hii Andre,

Yes, That user has higher access rights. Most of our users might have higher access rights.

Please guide what to do in this scenario.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rana Anees!

You can find security role by right click on Privilege and select "View related security role":

But you need install Security Development Tool first: https://kaya-consulting.com/ax-2012-security-development-tool-part-1/

You need to over ride permissions on the specific role with have this table, as per screenshot you are overriding permission on the role "Accounts manager" which have not this table... In my case, I am over ridding permissions on "Product Designer" or "Product designer Manager" in which these table are shown:
