Field Operating lease main account must be filled in.

Hello,

I'm trying to upload Lease Posting Main Accounts in Asset Leasing Module Parameters.

I'll be using only IFRS 16 and I don't need US GAAP. Neither do I need Operating Leases. I'll be having only Finance Leases.

So, when I'm trying to enter only Finance Lease Main Accounts, it's throwing error that Operating Lease Main Accounts also are required.

In Total there are 30 Main Accounts for finance lease, and it would be a waste of space to enter 30 more main Accounts for Operating Lease. How can this be resolved? Shall I just enter the same account in the Operating Lease as well? What are the implications of that?

    Hi MYGz,

    The module requires a value in both the finance and operating accounts. However, if your leases are IFRS16, the operating lease account would only ever be used if the lease is classified as a short-term or low-value lease. For all other cases, the account mapped to the finance lease type will be used even if there is a value in the operating account type.

    Since this is a system restriction, I'd recommend mapping the same finance accounts to the operating account types knowing that it will not be used. This should resolve the error you're seeing.
