Expand Multi Select Optionset when record is red only

Hello,

We are using multi select optionset with 6 options. Now when the CRM record is editable, they can click down arrow to expand it and select desired options. But when the record is inactive (meaning all fields are locked), there is no way for my users to look at all selected options because the downward arrow which expands is not available and all 6 options wont fit on screen to be displayed.

Is this a product bug? Are there any work arounds for this?

    Hello Chakka,

    I would say it's not a bug but it's feature. If you want an easy workaround - increase the length of your multiselect optionset field - that should be enough to show all 6 selected values.

    Alternatively you can create a text field and put concatenated values of options inside (using plugins or JavaScript) and show either Multiselect field when form is active or Text field when it's blank using JavaScript.

    Thak you Andrew for quick turnaround.

    Option 1: I tried to increase field length but i dont see any such option on form properties for that field. I can only increase length of a single line or multi line text field but not multi select field. Plz correct me if i am wrong.

    Option 2: That definitely seems to work for us

    Regarding option 1 I meant if your field is located on 2-3 columns section - format it to occupy all the columns but it seems it's not a case.

    Anyway option 2 should work for you. Good luck implementing it.
