Global setting to show the grid footer by default

Hi Community,

By default, the footer area of a Grid is hidden according to the user document below. Is there a global setting/configuration to display the Grid Footer by default?

There is a footer area at the bottom of every tabular grid in finance and operations apps. The footer can show valuable information that is related to the data that appears in the grid. Here are some examples of this information:

  • The number of selected rows in the table (when you select more than one record)
  • Calculated values at the bottom of configured, numeric columns (for example, grand totals)
  • The number of rows in the dataset

This footer is hidden by default, but you can turn it on. To show the footer for a grid, select the Grid options button in the grid header, and then select the Show footer option. After you turn on the footer for a particular grid, that setting will be remembered until the user chooses to hide the footer. To hide the footer, select Hide footer on the Grid options menu.

    yes, there isn't a global setting for this at the moment.

    Unfortunately there isnt that kind of functionality OOB.

    We would like to enable the footer in the Time Entry screen in particular; but the partner consultant has not enabled Personalization for users yet. Your suggestion will be a workaround for us to consider if there isn't a global system setting out of box.

    You can create a personal view and then publish that view to other users using personalization in System Administration module. In System Administration > Setup > Personalization. Here, you can share your personalization with multiple users at a time

    You can share a view with other users as default. They will not have to set it up themselves. So, when other users (to whom you shared) open the relevant page then they can view it as their first display.

    Or are you looking for a setting, if enabled, will run the footer view for all users on all pages?

    Hi Moazzma,

    Thank you for the reply. What you suggested will be still a per user setting, meaning each user has to perform the same if he/she wants the footer displayed.

    But I was wondering if there is a global setting, from a system admin's perspective, to set the footer displayed by default.

    Hi,

    Have you tried saving the page as a personal view like personalization?

    You can save the view and pin it as default. So, next time when you open the page you will have footer showing up. You can later share this view with other users as well.
