Creating BOM with Converted UoM (pcs to cm) for kitting with BOM Journal

Hi All,

I have a problem for consuming component items as defined in BOM, it is not coming in BOM Journal.

As you can see in below picture I have defined BOM, I made it approve and active.

4857.File1.jpg

Now I am creating BOM Journal with Report As Finished.

File2.jpg

Now I am  exploding this BOM Journal

File3.jpg

In this 3rd Picture you can see only 4 component items are taken, since original BOM is defined with 6 component items with 8 lines.

The items are missing in 3rd Picture is those where I add unit conversion from pcs to cm.

1pcs = 4 mtr, So I add unit conversion 1 pcs = 400 cm

All the item codes are similar as other item which are coming in bom journal.

Thanks and regards..

Pramod ..

    Hi All,

As suggested by Mr. Guy Terry - Just now I tried with 100 pcs of final product. And I got all the sku's as per defined BOM are in BOM Journal.

    File6.jpg

But what, if we need only 1 or 2 pcs of final product. Do we need to increase decimal places up 4 digit ?

    Thanks..

    Pramod

    Thanks for your feedbacks..

Annette Theissen - as you ask, Inventory unit is Pcs and Engineer Bom Unit in cm. And Unit conversion also you can see in attached picture.

    Picture -4 for one item

    File2.jpg

Picture - 5 for anther item

    File5.jpg

Guy Terry - as you said, it would be because of decimal places, but if you see in picture 3, Qty. showing with 2 decimal places. Even after that also, item lines are coming inside the BOM Journal for those 2 items.

    Thanks..

    Pramod

A BOM Journal is an inventory journal, and all lines can only be posted in the Inventory unit of measure.

To make one PP-MF item, AX needs to post consumption of 20cm (or less) on your PP-PN-PN lines.

20cm = 0.05 Pcs. I expect the decimal precision on your 'Pcs' unit is set to zero; therefore AX rounds that to zero decimal places.

0.05 rounded = 0. Therefore, consumption of these PP-PN-PN lines is zero Pcs.

What happens if you create a BOM Report as Finished for one thousand of your PP-MF item?

    Hi Pramod,

the first thing to notices is that the missing items are those with cm, not those with pcs! Also, the unit conversion doesn't seem to work, because the quantities are identical in pictures 1 and 3 ...

Can you let us know what UoM is used in inventory module for these items?

Can you add pictures of the unit conversions you set up?

    Kind regards,

    Annette
