FINANCIAL REPORT - REPORT DESIGNER - WOULD LIKE TO GET A LIFE TO DATE REPORT

ReportReport

Hi Community,

Good day!

I was working on creating a custom report that displays life-to-date data. Is there a way to accomplish this? If so, could you guide me through the process?
Below is a screenshot of the column definition that provides summarized figures for the month. What adjustments should I make to retrieve life-to-date data instead?

There is no option for a life to date report in FR. However, if you're talking Balance Sheet accounts, these do carry, by nature, life to date balances.  There would be no equivalent for profit and loss accounts because they get closed to zero each year end.

    Hi Frank,

    Thank you for reply.

Additionally, I worked around this by presenting the annual balances for a 3-year profit transaction (2023 to 2025), with an extra column (E) that sums up these years. Please refer to the screenshot for reference. The output matched my expectations and was working correctly.

However, when I used "NP" as the print control to hide columns B, C, and D—leaving only column E visible—the output turned blank. When I removed "NP," the columns and figures reappeared. My goal is simply to hide the other columns while keeping column E displayed.

Could you provide any additional insights?

That's interesting.  The whole point of NP columns is to do as you've configured.  I wonder if there's some interplay between columns B&C with a period value of 12 and column D with period value of Base that is causing the issue.  Try making all the columns the same period setting and see if that resolves the issue.  Not that it resolves the issue you're trying to solve but it might be an informative test.

    Hi Frank,

Thanks so much for your replies—I really appreciate them.
Unfortunately, the suggestion you mentioned didn’t work; the output is still coming out blank.

I'd submit a support ticket to Microsoft then.  Your configuration should work and produce the desired results.  And you're quite welcome.

Erich.  I meant you should submit a support ticket to Microsoft. I can't do that on your behalf.
