Hello experts,I would like to know if anyone had an experience with the PO confirmation/external email automation. The goal: once a PO gets the final approval, workflow confirms it and sends the confirmation to a vendor (PO attached). Is it possible, in other words, can PO approval workflow be modified that way? Can we use "Procurement" email (from contact info), should it be set to primary?Thank you in advance for your experience sharing.
Did you try configuring PO confirmation(Purchase order confirmed ) business event ? You can consume this business event in Power automate and send an email using it.
Thanks Sukrut, unfortunately we do not use Power automate yet.
Hello Anya Dashe,
I think this works as follows.
1. Open confirm purchase order in the procurement & sourcing module
2. Select the criteria for the confirmation e.g. POs that are approved
3. Setup a batch process that runs every couple of minutes
4. Make sure that you send the confirmations by email e.g. by enabling the print management destination
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Anya,
The Purchase order confirmed business event could be a good choose. We suggest you can give it a fly.
docs.microsoft.com/.../app-business-events
If you don't want use business event, please follow Ludwig's suggestion, this should works.
Fangyuan, thank you for your answer.
Question - can I modify the existent PO approval workflow that way, so once PO gets a final approval - it gets auto-confirmed and email is sent to a vendor email under "Procurement" business reason? Or once PO gets manually confirmed by a user, email is sent to a vendor email?
Thank you
no out of box for confirming PO within workflow, but one can use the confirmation (batch job) and specify the criteria for PO approval status=Approved which would do the confirmation
Ludwig, thanks a lot for your answer!
Thanks Rahul! Much appreciated!
Hello,
Thank you for the info so far. I have a batch job that sets the POs as Complete.
I can also trigger an email using the printer management.
What can I do to cause the email to be sent automatically? I am missing a step I think.
Thank you,
S
