Hi,
Does anyone know if this is possible to create Bookable Resource with Type: User, but for not licensed users. We have to book those users but they don't need to have access to D365 FS at the moment (company users only, no sub-contractors). I am aware of that we can use Contact or Account but some of those users will need a license in near future and the best option would be to stay with the same Bookable Resource record.
I don’t think it can be achieved.
An unlicensed user cannot even be found in Advanced Find.
And in the form of Bookable Resource entity, the lookup field of User is related to the view of User entity. So you cannot find the unlicensed users when creating a record of Bookable Resource.
If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.
Best Regards,
Nya
Hi Nya,
Thanks for your response.
I have found this post: LINK - looks like some of free licenses may cause that user will appear in D365.
The second solution I am thinking of is to assign a license temporarly, just to sync user record in D365, create bookable resource and then reassign the license to other user.
What do you think?
Hi KB, while this is technically possible, I would strongly advise against doing that as it's a violation of licensing polices.
