Is there any option will allow me to maintain charges in the project quotation in Dynamics 365 F&O? like custom duty

The case is as follows, the company has it's own calculation sheet which includes all the equipment needed for the project along with some additional charges like, site preparation, extra warranty & on-site training,

the company will calculate the equipment price based on the previous elements, however, when they send the quotation to the customer it should show only 1 line which will be the main item 'equipment price' (item Price+the elements+ the margin)

the reason of not using the WBS, because it will not affect the item price but only will add a new line to the quotation, and the condition here is to send the quotation with one line only include the main item

Example:

Item: ABC Sales Price = $10

custom & Clearance = $2

on-site training = $3

extra warranty = $3

the quotation line should be:

Item Name: ABC

QTY = 1

Price = 10+2+3+3 = $18 + 5% Margin =  18.9

I have the same question (0)

    Good morning,

    If you want to send the quotation with a single line only, can't you simply add a single line manually into the quotations lines and then send it out to the customer.

    If you don't need the WBS at the project level then just leave it and set it up later (if needed) when you create the project.

    Wouldn't that process work for you?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Mohammed,

    I do agree with Ludwig here. The company has their own calculation sheet, so the details can be imported or setup on each step in the process; either on the quotation or on the project.

    You can also choose to do use the WBS on the quotation and arrange with a custom design that only one summary line will be printed (based on setup).

    one possible way to try out is to use additional expense lines and add the custom duties within it on the project quotation (if do not want to add on WBS) and then using reports and some identifier exclude printing for those lines

    typically one should send the price breakup hence including all price components is my recommendation

    Hello Reinhard, thanks for the reply,

    But if I add just one line which’s the main equipment the price should be calculated based on: item cost + additional charges + margin) how to get this final price unless some calculations happened in the background this calculation need to be published and it should be accessible during the quotation workflow to be checked & approved..

    Hello André, thanks for your reply,

    But the calculation sheet need to be attached somewhere to be approved along with the quotation..

    Hi Mohammed,

    You didn't mention this is your first question. You have several options as discussed above. Or create the WBS on the quotation or on the project. Apart from this, you need to manage how you do print/send the quotation. The calculation sheet could be an attachment or you have to create multiple pages as quotation document: one summary and pages with the calculation if you did create the WBS on the quotation level.

    Good morning Mohammed,

    Wouldn't it be a pragmatic solution to enter the single quotation line and attach your Excel calculation sheet to the quotation.

    In the workflow that is forwarded to the approvers you can mention that people should look at the attachment in D365FO if they need details?

    This should work out of the box without any modification.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    I like the attachment solution
