Cannot install our AppSource extension

Hello everyone,

We just had a discussion with someone from the AppSource team at Microsoft and they could not resolve our issue. So I am writing here in hope of someone having experience in publishing an extension on AppSource.

We recently published an extension on AppSource and set the offering option to Contact Me (as we intend to offer the extension with multiple subscription options). From our production environment, there is no other option to install the extension beside via manual upload from the extension management page. When we try to do that, we get the following error.

An extension with same app Id '' already exists in the AppSource marketplace with name '' and publisher ''. Please use the extension marketplace to install the extension from AppSource or use a new app Id for your per-tenant extension.

We understand why we get the error, we just do not know how else we are suppose to install the extension. Does anyone know on how to install an extension published, but not installable, via AppSource?

Any input on this is much appreciated.

Thanks, and stay safe.

Are you using the method described here when you try to install the App?

Hi, you have to use the direct URL to install it.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Inge M. Bruvik and Yun Zhu for helping us resolve our issue.

We can see that for non-BC extension, you can select a subscription option when paying for the extension. Is there a reason why this is not available for BC extension?

We were thinking of including a license management to our app in later version but it seems as if we need to do that asap as it seems as anyone can install and use our app as long as they have our app ID?

Thank you both once again for your help.

Hi, yes, Microsoft handed these over to Partners, we didn't realize this problem at first, and finally added the activation key module urgently.
In addition, some Partners will also limit the number of users at the same time, or limit the period of use, no matter what the method is, I recommend adding some restrictions as soon as possible.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
