Filtering Associated Documents (SharePoint) subgrid view

Hi all,

We are running a Dynamics 365 Portal and have set up SharePoint Integration.  The integration works and the processing is smooth.  However, we have a requirement to filter the documents we display in the portal based on a metadata field in SharePoint (i.e. "Document Type").  We only want to show records where the Document Type = "Customer Payments", however we cannot determine the way to set up this filter.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately there is nothing out of the box to allow filtering of documents on the Portal - currently it's all or nothing.

The only way I know to achieve that would be using a Companion App to either replace the out-of-the-box SharePoint integration, or to apply client-side filtering (which isn't very secure).

Thanks for the response.  We ended up going the client side route since we were already filtering based on the regarding, but this will be an issue for us going forward.  Hopefully they will implement the use of alternate views or at least some basic filtering.

    Hi MojoJojo,

Currently I am facing the same issue. So it seems still valid. Is this correct or did you yet manage to filter the documents server-side?

Though, still interest in the client side route. Anything relevant to share?

    Happy to hear,

    Chris

If you want to filter documents from the subgrid. you'll need to go to Advanced Settings -> Customizations -> Entities -> SharePointDocuments -> Views.

Edit the specific view columns. On the right there's an option to Edit Filter criteria. Select the column you want to filter by in the dropdown and update the clause "{ColumnName equals SomeString} ". Save and Publish. When you render that specific view, the documents should be filtered.
