If you go to the Intercompany Setup page, have you completed the setup there? In both companies?

    Hi,
That message means the two companies haven’t fully “shaken hands.” The registration code your company is sending isn’t the one the other company expects for Intercompany Partner Services.
    Quick fix checklist
    1. Confirm the channel
Using Inbox Type = Service only works if both companies are Business Central online (SaaS).
If one side is on-prem, switch both IC Partner cards to Email or File instead.
    2. Swap the right codes (both directions)
      • In Company AIntercompany Setup, copy the Registration Code and paste it into Company B’s IC Partner card for Company A.
      • In Company B, do the same: copy its Registration Code and paste it into Company A’s IC Partner card for Company B.
(These are registration codes, not the partner codes. Easy to mix up!)
    3. Reset if in doubt
If you think the code is stale or mistyped, click Reset Registration Code on Intercompany Setup, share the new code, and update both partner cards.
    4. Test the connection
On each IC Partner card (with Inbox Type = Service), use Test/Check Connection. It should succeed on both sides.
    Common gotchas
    • One side points to sandbox, the other to production (codes are per environment/company).
    • The IC Partner is Blocked.
    • Mismatch between Company Name on the partner card and the actual target company name.
    If Service isn’t an option
Just use Inbox Type = Email (or File) on both partner cards. It’s simple and avoids the registration handshake altogether.

    Hello,

The error means Business Central can’t match your intercompany setup details.
It happens when the IC Registration Code, Connection URL, or Company ID doesn’t align between partners.
Recheck both companies’ Intercompany Setup pages, and ensure any Azure App registration (if cross-tenant) is correctly configured and consented.
Run Validate Setup from the Intercompany Setup page to confirm all settings match.

    Regards,
    Oussama

    Hi,

Check that the IC Registration Code in your company setup matches the one in the Intercompany Partner setup. Ensure IC Partner Code and IC Registration Code are identical. Re-sync IC Inbox/Outbox after correcting. If the error persists, clear the IC Inbox and resend the transaction.

    Thanks

    Hi

the error is caused by an invalid, unregistered, or expired code. Double-check the code and registration, and escalate to IC Partner support if it still fails

    Hi,

This seems to be a setup-related issue. I’d suggest either reconfiguring the setup from scratch or asking a fellow developer to run the debugger and identify the exact error cause through AL code.

    Hope this helps.
