Is there now a way that you can add additional options to an Opportunity status?

We have a need to add an additional status to an Opportunity besides the ones provided which are Open, Won and Lost. We have not found a way that we can edit this list. Has someone come across a way to do this, that hopefully isn't too complex to do?

    Thank you for your response. We have a one-off situation whereby we have a sub-set of opportunities for which we do not have the status which is why we were hoping to be able to add a fourth "status" field (we already have the needed status "reasons". We'll figure out a workaround. Thank you again.

    One cannot create new statecodes.  Status Reason (statuscode) is the feature you may be looking for.  They, however, are always a refined subset of one of the statecodes.

    Considering the whole "cosmology" of an Opportunity, I'm pretty sure you will find that your "new" status falls neatly into one of the 3.
