Subcontracting cost applied to a production order.

When we process a subcontracting Production order everything seems to be working correctly accept for the cost.  When we receive the PO for the service it updates correctly but the cost is not being applied to the production order.  How do we get the cost to be applied?  Thanks.

    Hello JMO54,

There can be many reasons why the costs are not applied. Can you provide us some additional Information on your production setup especially how the subcontracting process is setup. Would be great if you could attach some screenshots as this makes things always easier.

After your product receipt (invoice) on the sub-contract purchase order you have to post a picking list issue to the production order to get the costs on to the production order.  You'll probably want to simplify the process for the users so issue the sub-contract service item at production order start - or at finish (backflush). Or you can post a route card from the product receipt. See timsaxblog.wordpress.com/.../subcontract-purchase-order-receipt-with-route-card-posting.

Think of the sub-contract service charge just like any other component or raw material. You buy it - and then you issue it to the production order.

    Hello JMO54,

Have you been able to get this resolved?
